| Martina is 29 years old and has three living children (One died, youngest is 5). She is in the end stages of kidney failure and has at most 3 months to live. She is also in her 24th week of pregnancy. Dialysis and kidney transplant are not an option. Our doctors can either perform a c-section and leave a widowed father with three children, a newborn and a large hospital bill or try and keep Martina alive long enough to deliver naturally. Martina died two days after this picture was taken. |
